What to keep in mind with your online accounts

An on line account is a website where you have registered and put in some personal information.  All websites are supposed to be secured from showing your information and making it available on line to others.  If it shows on line to other members or even guests, that’s the time they can send you spam or junk email.  Be careful when you try to log in to your Google account then say I forgot my Google account password. Often, it is in these instances is where hackers are quick to hack an account.  They could just be waiting for the moment for you to forget your password.  They have ways and means to have the password sent to their email account at the same time.

It is much more difficult for hackers to hack your account if they don’t know your user name.  Why?  When you click on I forgot my Google username, often the system will send it to your alternate email address.  That would just be fine because even if hackers know your user name but don’t know your password, they still have a problem.  The important thing is you don’t make changes on your on line account in publicly used computers.  Without proper precaution you information could be saved and logged into by unscrupulous users.  Be extra careful when there are bystanders behind you because they could be taking note of your information.  Private on line accounts should be accessed only on your personal computer.  The most important thing is not to put in personal information even in government owned computers.  Opt for filling in a hard copy to be submitted to them directly.  If instructed to send by snail mail, make sure it is traceable and there is receipt acknowledgement.
