Tutoring when I was student was thought to be a detention.  A sort of timeout that I could not handle.  I did not want to be tutored and I never went.  Tutoring to me was punishment for something that I did not do wrong.  It is not my fault that I am not interested in anything that the professors were teaching me, it was theirs for not keeping it interesting.
