The website designer needs to take into consideration how to get people to the site and how to get them to take an action once they are there. Encouraging traffic to the website, converting those visitors to customers and keeping track of it all are all part of website design.

Therefore, a web designer who really understands business in general and the business of websites in particular can be an invaluable asset to any company. And this ability can translate into a higher web design salary for the savvy designer.
