Gratitude in Business Can Make You Money

Business thank you letters are a great way to increase your earnings and frankly, DO BETTER BUSINESS. It’s particularly awesome because it gets your name out there without being pushy or intrusive and creates a lot of good will. Did you know that a survey of over 2,000 customers showed that those who received business thank you notes were 43% more likely to continue business with that particular vendor over those without any thank yous?

There are other great times to send thank you notes in business, too.

A great time if after you get a referral from a collegue or even another customer. A gift would be a good thing, too. Spend about 70% of what it would have spent in advertising or 10% of what you will make off that customer in the next year, whichever is the lesser.

Another great time for a business thank you letter would be to co-workers who did a particular good job on a recent project or switched shifts with you. When people feel appreciated they are more likely to do more for you.

Don’t just limit your thank yous to customers and co-workers. Try sending them to bosses or potential bosses.

Those candidates who send interview thank you notes are also 22% more likely to not only be hired, but also are more likely to be negotiate a better salary.

Did you get a bonus? Send your boss a thank you. If you think because it’s automated that it doesn’t matter, think again. Making sure your boss knows you qualified for a bonus, appreciate it, AND you have an attention to detail will set you above the rest of the staff.

In short, gratitude pays.
