Excel Help Tips Part Eight: Multiplication In Excel

Welcome to another session of our Microsoft Excel Tutorial.  Before we begin, always remember everything we discussed can found in Excel’s help section.  All your questions can be answered there. Take the time to read it for reference.

Our topic for today will be from one of our regular readers. If you remember him, he was the one who asked us the steps on how to alphabetize in excel.  This week he emailed us with the question: “how do i multiply in excel?”

You can do multiplication in excel in a variety of ways.  Let’s start with the simplest way.  First enter numbers on the cells in your spreadsheet.  Click on a blank cell where you want the product to be displayed.  Then type “=cellX*cellX….”.  The cellX denotes the cell location of the numbers that you entered.  Once your done, click Enter and the product will be displayed.

That is all the time and space we have for today.  We hope you have learned something valuable with this lesson.  Do not forget to check drop us a line and tell us what you think about today’s lesson.  Your feedbacks are always important to us.  They help us find new ways to deliver new and interesting topics for your learning pleasure.

Visit us again next week, as we will be celebrating our third year anniversary and we will be coming up with something special for all of you loyal followers.  There will also be some contests in the form of special questions with regards to excel.  Prizes will be awarded to the first twenty people to get the right answer.
